- How old does my pet have to be to board at Canyonwyck Kennels?

Pets must be at least 4 months old, at this point all pets MUST have completed their puppy/kitten vaccinations and rabies shots.

- Can my dogs or cats share a kennel?

Yes, as long as they do not fight over toys, beds or food.

- What happens if your pet should become ill while boarding?

During regular business hours your pet will be taken immediately to your own veterinarian. After business hours your pet will be taken to the emergency veterinarian hospital. We will always contact you by the emergency contact phone number that you leave us with at check-in.

- Is there somebody at the kennel 24 hours a day?

Yes, we live on the property and a kennel owner or employee is always here. We do not answer phone calls or allow visitors after hours. Check-ins and check-outs are only during business hours.

- Do you board ALL breeds?

Yes, your pet has to be people friendly. It is okay if your dog does not like other dogs because it never has to socialize with other dogs, but does have to allow the staff to safely handle it.

- When do I pay for my pets boarding stay?

Payment is expected upon pick-up. No pets are released until all boarding charges are paid for.

- What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept personal checks and cash. SORRY NO CREDIT CARDS

- Can a friend or relative check-in or check-out my pet for me?

Yes, as long as we know ahead of time and we have the persons contact information. It is a good idea to prepay your boarding stay if you are having someone pick-up for you, that way the person is not left responsible for the bill.

- How far in advance should I reserve for holidays?

It is a good idea to make your reservation at least 3 months in advance. Sometimes we are able to make last minute reservations if you have a cancellation.

- In bad weather will my dog still get to go out for a playgroup or leash walk?

Yes, as long as it is not raining too hard, we will still exercise your dog!

- What is a good drop-off time?

You may drop-off anytime between 8am - 4:30pm, we recommend dropping off around 3pm so that your pet has time to settle in before closing.
